White Privilege
All right, listen. I'm trying to be respectful, and all you're doing is deleting it wholesale. There's no way you could have read what I wrote in that short-span of time. Please stop this, and allow the Misplaced Pages community to see my edits, else I will be forced to go around you. 129.255.229.196 (talk) 18:23, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm warning you. Do not delete my petition. 129.255.229.196 (talk) 18:26, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
So is anything negative about black people grounds for deletion, now? Come on! Don't be ridiculous! There's no vendetta. I'm merely pointing out that "White Privilege" as it is peddled in academia and in the media is a WOEFULLY overblown concept, and could as easily be renamed "Successful Privilege"...unless there already is a success privilege. This concept of "privilege" when it used to be simply the concept of "Success" breeds hatred, resentment, and animosity towards those above you, when you should respect them, and attempt to achieve what they have. I admire Bill Gates, though he's an old white man, I don't hate him. I want to have what he has. I don't think it's "privilege", I think he worked to get there, and I know if I work my butt off, I can get there, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.255.229.196 (talk) 18:31, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for trying to block vandals on Misplaced Pages. However, the changes being made to the National Art Museum of Sport's website are being done to reflect current information which is also shown on the National Art Museum of Sport's home page for verification www.nationalartmuseumofsport.org. Please read the changes before deleting. There is nothing false or defamatory in them. Thank you for your help!

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. I notice that you removed topically-relevant content from Kermit Gosnell. However, Misplaced Pages is not censored to remove content that might be considered objectionable. Please do not remove or censor information that directly relates to the subject of the article. If the content in question involves images, you have the option to configure Misplaced Pages to hide images that you may find offensive. However, this does not mean that Misplaced Pages should include material simply because it is offensive, nor does it mean that offensive content is exempted from regular inclusion guidelines. Material that could be considered vulgar, obscene or offensive should not be included unless it is treated in an encyclopedic manner. Offensive material should be used only if its omission would cause the article to be less informative, relevant, or accurate, and no equally suitable alternative is available.
Further comment
I am well aware of all the pertinent Misplaced Pages policies. However, I noted that you have only a few edits and might be a new user and might not be aware of the policies. Also, your edit summary indicated that you were removing the picture solely due to its graphic nature, which is why I left the notice regarding policy. In any event, the picture has since been removed from the article, for a validly given reason. Also, please sign your comments on talk pages by using four tildes ~~~~. Thanks. Just thought I'd apologise for my edit on the lukaku page, I am an inexperienced user who was 'experimenting' so apologies and thankyou for keeping wikipedia a great site for information and facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.172.150.187 (talk) 20:46, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Jonah Falcon
Hi! Replying to you on my recent edit to Jonah Falcon's page. I realize that 9/10 times, changing something on a wikipedia page to "penis" is a clear indicator of vandalism. However, in this case, I had been reading the page and the section's name was "wiener". I didn't think that using a colloquialism like that as a heading on an article would do much for wikipedia's credibility, so I changed it to the medical term. Can we please let this edit stand (unless you have a better idea for that subheading, in which case, be my guest.)?

Hello A.amitkumar, a quick look at the talk page history and the editor's previous edits reveals that this is an educational institution with a long history of vandalism. I've blocked them for another year. Next time, please check the history to see what it has to say; in such cases you may start off, so to speak, with a higher-level warning which will probably cut down on further disruption. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 14:33, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Mangat clan
Adding such a large number of tags to Mangat clan is pointless. Just revert the IP. If they revert you then I'll take it to WP:3RRNB because they've had numerous warnings about the situation, explanations of blocks and edit warring and a suggestion to take it to the talk page. - Sitush (talk) 17:47, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Since you replied on my talk page, I have responded there. It is usually better to keep things all in one place. - Sitush (talk) 17:59, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
St. Vincent – St. Mary High School
I'll be blunt--do not issue a final warning to an account that has been attempting for several hours to clear copyright violations and promotional edits from an article. Thank you, 99.136.252.252 (talk) 18:44, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think you understand: reverting copyright violations is not edit warring, and giving another editor a final warning for doing so is grossly inappropriate--you restored copyright violation text. Again, I'd advise that you be more circumspect, and view the history of an article's edits to better comprehend context. I've asked the page be protected because of persistent copyright violations and promotional edits. Please don't continue at my talk page. Thank you, 99.136.252.252 (talk) 18:56, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Reverting copyright violations by whose definitions? no citations that there was a copyright violation and you claim to clean up an article by blanking it? Just deleting the warnings posted on your page by other users wont clean your slate. What you were doing was blatant vandalism especially when other users had warned you regarding the same. You should have asked for a page protection or used the discussion page and not act like a spoiled brat who wants his candy. An edit war with the other user was not the solution.Amit (talk) 19:02, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Amit
- Again, the entire passage was copied from the schools' website, and that much was clear if one had taken the time to read the history and attendant discussions between editors. One account was already blocked. The warning you saw on my page related to a different article and situation--it, too, was inappropriate. I assumed good faith and did not issue you a copyright violation warning for restoring the text. If you continue to make unwarranted accusations of vandalism I'll be happy to seek administrative assistance. You're wrong on this, sloppy with handing out warnings, and need to back down and read through the histories, as I've already suggested. 99.136.252.252 (talk) 19:07, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Saw your request for page protection (when i tried to put one of my own). Let the admininistrators take care of it in what ever way they deem best. Amit (talk) 19:19, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Amit
- "Reverting copyright violations by whose definitions?" By ours: WP:COPYVIO. This was copied from the school website, that's obvious. What IP99 was doing was obviously not blatant vandalism: they were following Misplaced Pages's guidelines, even protecting us from liability. Your warning, therefore, was spurious and invalid; your comment about "spoiled kid" is a personal attack, even if done in simile--and that comment wouldn't have been so bad if weren't utterly wrong about every aspect of this. This strikes me as yet another case where you rolled back/reverted without even looking to see what was going on or, if you did look, you didn't know what you were looking at (that's incompetence). Your efforts are appreciated, but if they're in an area where you are not on solid ground, it would help to be more careful in your warnings. Here is yet another reason for arguing that the use of Twinkle should be a right granted to a user, not just a tool anyone can pick up. Drmies (talk) 19:28, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for being incompetent in helping "you" who seem self sufficient. I agree it is many times easier to be on your own than being with a "bad" help/volunteer, I have disabled Twinkle please feel free to restrict usage of such tools.Ciao. Amit (talk) 19:43, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Amit
- No, you're not going to blame this on me or on IP99. I am not self-sufficient, and neither is IP99, which is why we help each other. In this case, I had to help him (I happen to know he's a he--in fact, one of our articles is on him--he's a Mixed Martial Artist who weighs 300 pounds and has never been defeated) because you weren't. You should have checked the content, and then you'd have found it was copied from a website. If it's copied from a website, the default response is "copyvio". There was no OTRS ticked on the talk page, these accounts were new and had only one single interested, one of them was just blocked, the content promoted the school and used unencyclopedic language...what more does one need? Instead, you warn him, explain to him (incorrectly) what he's done wrong (which is nothing), and then you insult him. You could be all petulant and make like you were wronged, or you can be adult about it, admit you were wrong, and move on, as a team player. Your choice. Drmies (talk) 19:49, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- I am not blaming anyone here - it is not my website to run nor I am an admin, it is your playground, your game and your rules. I am not claiming to be wronged in any way, it was not my article or related to me or was a personal concern to me. If you notice the first comment(which is deleted) after my warning is that instead of getting into an editing war with so many reverts in a single day(20 from each user) he should be requesting a page protection. Anyway I think you should be happy enough with me doing what you were wishing for, don't worry too much with apologizing for not being able to take twinkle away, I have already disabled it, and also wont be doing the so called "patrolling" anymore so that you dont have to lose your patience anymore.Amit (talk) 20:18, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Amit
- IP editors are not below you, just as admin are not above you. The IP was reverting vandalism and copyright violations, which is an accepted exception to the rules on 3RR and he did go to file for protection. Admin don't set the policies here, editors do, and non-admin greatly outnumber admin by a huge factor. We just help cleanup and enforce policy that non-admin establish. There are no "ranks" here. The correct answer here would have been "You were right, I didn't look close enough at what I was reverting and I shouldn't have tagged. I will be more careful in the future." and that would have been the end of it. We all make mistakes. Admitting them isn't a sign of weakness, it is a demonstration of having good character. - Most of your patrolling is fine, and very helpful--it's just that when it's not fine it should be dealt with in an appropriate manner. The learning curve is right there, in a. recognizing edits for what they are and b. handling past mistakes appropriately. When this happens two or three times in a few days, it's a cause for concern. Drmies (talk) 22:30, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hey guys, I don't think I need advice on how to be an adult or to build up my character or how to answer questions or how to handle mistakes (and that too after I mentioned that i wont be doing anything on wikipedia anymore) and I dont feel the equality here especially with responses such as these (outnumber != outpower)(Call me an arrogant snub for all you wish). There is no shortage of editors for wikipedia that this once incident needs to be dragged more now, so please get on with what ever keeps you busy and let go of me. For all I care delete this account and revert all changes I have done or if really it is much of an issue I will do so myself to prevent any pain to you admins .(So much for email notifications on edit of this page) - disabled that too now.
