Khalid Alvi also known as Dr. Khalid Mustafa Alvi is a well-known Critic , Writer , Academician and Poet (Urdu), he was born at Chandpur,Bijnor of Uttar Pradesh (India) on 20 June 1962. He is Associated with The University of Delhi as a professor. He belongs to the well-known Sayed family of Bijnor. Besides one dozen books to his credit he also edited famous English Fortnightly "Furtherance" and Urdu Monthly "Shahkaar". Dr. Khalid was invited by Uzbekistan Government as an observer of the Parliamentary Elections in Uzbekistan. He has delivered more than 1000 lectures in India and abroad. Cheered many literary setions in Peshawar University, Lahore University, Oriental Institute Tashkent, Samarkand University, Bukhara University, Calgary University. Recently he is invited to speak on "Ali Sardar Jaffri" as a part of Ali Sardar Jaffari Centenary Celebrations. Some of his works have been translated in German, Persian and Uzbek Languages. Some of his books are included in the Syllubus of The Cambridge University, Karachi University, Oriental University Tashkent, Delhi University.
