Deniz Aytekin (born 21 July 1978) is a German football referee of Turkish origin who officiates in Germany. He is based in Oberasbach, Bavaria.

Beer-throwing incident
On 1 April 2011, Aytekin was refereeing FC St. Pauli vs. FC Schalke 04 when in the 89th minute, after an offside call against St. Pauli, a fan threw a plastic mug of beer at the assistant referee Thorsten Schiffner. Aytekin abandoned the match with Schalke 04 winning 2–0. The result stood and St. Pauli had to play their next home match against SV Werder Bremen behind closed doors.
Personal life
Aytekin lives in Oberasbach, Bavaria and is an internet entrepreneur.
