He started off at alternative radio station Channel Z, before he went on to host the music jukebox show "Select Live". Defries has a reputation for bringing a bizarre sense of humour to his show Vodafone Select Live. He has an adoring public, and very popular with teenage girls.
Defries has long been considered the face of C4, and he has now been chosen to present a new New Zealand based live music show called Live at yours.
Defries is very polarising due to his accent and his humour.
