ANI

Hi FF-UK. I did note your !vote at the discussion proposing a topic ban on Martin Hogbin. For the sole purposes of deescalating the dispute, allowing fresh input, and so that the article talk page is not overwhelmed any further by edits from you and Martin Hogbin in relation to this infobox dispute, I'd posed a question to you both in relation to whether you both would accept a voluntary binding restriction. In this regard, Martin Hogbin said he is prepared to agree to cease editing the nationality field of the infobox at the article, James Clerk Maxwell, and cease discussing that issue (particularly at the talk page) until a suitable venue is agreed for any further discussion in respect of coming to a consensus. Can you please confirm if you are prepared to also agree to the same voluntary binding restriction or not?

Your answer would assist in understanding whether this back-and-forth between you both will continue before you both potentially spend lots of time in the final step (an arbitration case), or whether you both are prepared to let this go to the next step towards resolving the issue with fresh input (an article RfC). Thanks, Ncmvocalist (talk) 17:22, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Although I appreciate your willingness to be bound by the mutual voluntary editing restriction on the terms I'd proposed for the sole purposes stated in my comment above, as you have quite rightly pointed out when you pinged me in your comment there (thank you), MH is clearly not willing to be bound by this restriction so this matter remains unresolved. In the circumstances, I have withdrawn my proposal and do not believe you should be bound by any restriction alone. Notwithstanding this, it would not be a bad idea to adopt or maintain a more cautious approach in your editing there, particularly in light of what I said at 17:24, 25 December 2014 (UTC) at the ANI discussion. Ncmvocalist, thank you. You will have noticed that the "wandering IP" is once again trying to confuse matters with his personal ideas on ethnicity (which is just another red herring) and completely false claims that 'citizenship' "wasn't around in Maxwell's day"!
