Jean Troisier (1881–1945) was a French doctor and biologist who headed the laboratory of the Pasteur Institute

Life

Jean Troisier was the son of Charles Émile Troisier, professor of medicine at the University of Paris, and the father or Dr. Solange Troisier.

From 1903 to 1911 he worked in Paris hospitals. After having studied microbiology at the Pasteur Institute and immunology, in 1911 he was appointed chief of pathology and bacteriology at the Medical Faculty of Paris. He then engaged in the research as laboratory chief at the Pasteur Institute. He was responsible laboratory annexed to the singerie, funded by the Princess of Greece, Marie Bonaparte who was a close friend. He then alternated between the responsibilities of a hospital physicial and researcher in several laboratories.

In 1938 he was made a knight of the Legion of Honour. In 1943 he was elected a member of the Académie de médecine.
