It is not clear in Egyptian history if Asiya is equivalent to Hatshepsut, but she was probably Mutnedjmet. In the Qur'an, she was the wife of the Pharaoh (Fira'un) and was the one who adopted Moses (Musa) after Moses was found floating in the Nile river. According to Islam, she will be among the first women to enter "Janna" (Paradise) because she accepted Musa's monotheism over the Pharaoh's beliefs. She was given a message from the Angel Gabriel regarding the Pharaoh's death decree, warned Moses and thus saved his life.
