He started off at alternative radio station Channel Z, before he went on to host the music jukebox show "Select Live". Defries has a reputation for bringing a bizarre sense of humour to his show Vodafone Select Live.
Defries has long been considered the face of C4, and he has now been chosen to present a new New Zealand based live music show called Live at yours.
Defries is very polarising due to his accent and his humour.
