The St. Martin Cathedral of Mainz is more commonly known as the Mainz Cathedral in English. Perhaps it is most properly referred to as the Mainzer Dom, the name most often used in German.

The Mainz Cathedral is the seat of the bishopric of Mainz. The Bishop of Mainz conducts administrative duties of the diocese in addition to providing regular Catholic Mass and other religious services at this historic cathedral.
