Introduction

ixigo (pronounced "ik-si-go") is a travel marketplace founded in the year 2007. Headquartered in Gurugram, the company has a user base of over 100 million travellers. It aggregates and compares real-time travel information, prices & availability for flights, trains, buses, cabs and hotels. Company’s vision is to empower every traveller with trustworthy & personalised travel recommendations. Recently, ixigo expanded its footprint in India with the inauguration of a new product development center in Bengaluru.

History & Investors

ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Pvt. Ltd.) was started Mr. Aloke Bajpai and Mr. Rajnish Kumar. The duo started the company in June 2007 with the launch of the flights product. BAF Spectrum (Singapore) participated in the seed round in 2008 .

In August 2011, ixigo received $18.5 M investment from SAIF Partners and MakeMyTrip in a landmark deal for online travel in India. In June 2015, smartphone maker Micromax Informatics invested an undisclosed amount in ixigo. In March 2017, ixigo closed a funding of $15 million in Series B round by Venture Capital firm Sequoia Capital India and Fosun RZ Capital

Products and Services

In 2007, the company launched its flights product in a bid to provide best deals and make flying accessible for all. In 2008, apps for hotels and buses were launched followed by the launch of the ixigo trains app.
