Revision as of 18:11, 23 December 2004 by Elf (talk | contribs) (intro fmt;animal-stub; catg dog, horse)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)- This article is about the animal coloration. For the musical group, see Piebald (band).
A piebald horse is a horse with large grey and black patches. The colour of the horse's skin underneath its coat may vary between black or pink.
Similar to the skewbald and oddbald, these colours are now no longer in common use in the UK and are more correctly referred to as Coloured. However, the term is still in common parlance in Ireland where piebald horses are popular amongst Irish Travellers. In the US, the more common term for this colouring is paint.
Piebald is also used to refer to dogs with the same coloration.
