Mount McKinley in Alaska is the highest mountain peak in North America, at a height of approximately 6194 m (20,320 feet). It is known as Denali, which means "the great one" in the Athabascan language in the native tongue and is the centerpiece of Denali National Park.

Mount McKinley was climbed for the first time on June 7, 1913 by the Karstens-Stuck expedition.
