Jeopardy

Matt Amodio is not a "random contestant." He's the current champion, with 8 straight wins and almost 300,000 dollars. That puts him into a higher echelon among Jeopardy players: same number of wins (so far) as Jennifer Quail and MackKenzie Jones; and with almost 100,000 more dollars during the same interval. For some current stats, see When I reposted part of that other user's comments, I left out the junk about his answering style, which is irrelevant. ←Baseball Bugs carrots21:20, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

@Baseball Bugs:, nonsense. He's done nothing special. You're just adding listcruft to an already ridiculously long article. WP:NOTSTATS, your edits fall under WP:BLP#2. AldezD (talk) 23:55, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

For one who has set yourself up as the guardian of the Jeopardy show articles, you don't seem to know very much. Do you even watch the show? ←Baseball Bugs carrots00:44, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
"Do you even watch the show?" Ok. Whatevs. He's the current champion and won a lot of money. So what. This is the same nonsense of adding Braydon Smith just because he died. Amodio has done nothing extraordinary. He's just a contestant. The article itself is nothing more than listcruft of whomever has deemed someone worthy enough enough to mention. It's ridiculous listcruft fansite nonsense. AldezD (talk) 14:21, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
He's won 8 straight and almost 300,000 bucks. Easily enough to put him into the next TOC. That's not "nothing". Your ignorance of the show is appalling. ←Baseball Bugs carrots22:48, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
It doesn't matter. He's just a contestant. It's a television show. If you want to count stats for every game show contestant on a television show, start your own wiki. My ignorance? WTF are you talking about? It's WIKIPEDIA. Now, I'm sure after you read this, you'll stomp back to your basement bedroom and flail wildly about some ridiculous stat "He's answered x questions in 34 seconds and people complain because he says 'What's' vs. 'What is'", then go back to Redirects for Discussion and use whatever sock you need to in order to get your redirect kept. Seriously. It's a television show. He's just a random person. AldezD (talk) 12:14, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
What would be your personal cutoff line for entries in the list? How many wins? How much money? ←Baseball Bugs carrots13:48, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
FYI, I have consulted my favorite admin to ask what to do about your false accusations. ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:13, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Also, the condo unit which I own does not have a basement. ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:22, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
WHOOOOOOOSH. AldezD (talk) 14:25, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Your joke is a little too obscure for my feeble brain. Please explain. ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:27, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Amodio has now won 9 straight and 310,000 dollars. If he keeps winning, at what point will he still be a "nobody" in your opinion? ←Baseball Bugs carrots04:34, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
@Baseball Bugs: when he loses and has a final total for non-tournament winnings. WP:NOTNEWS/WP:NOTSTATS. He should not be added and updated each day as he wins more. AldezD (talk) 12:37, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
I haven't put his name in the article except for the one time, which you reverted. ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:35, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
And after today's win, 10 in a row and over 360,000 dollars. Not bad for a nobody. ←Baseball Bugs carrots21:13, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
@Baseball Bugs:Yes I understand he's won money. It's not necessary to provide me a day-by-day recap on my talk page. It would be nice to watch the show on my own without it having been spoiled by you two hours before it airs in my market. But that's not the point. If there's a contestant who keeps on winning, wait until they lose or stop appearing to add it to the article. WP:NOTSTATS/WP:NOTNEWS covers why daily updates to article space are not preferred. AldezD (talk) 21:45, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying your earlier point. And sorry about spoiling it. I left out the details, so it's not a total spoiler. This all started when I went looking for any info on this Amodio guy. That's when I found out you had rubbed out his entry on that page. I restored it once (minus the complaints about his style) and then you reverted it again. ←Baseball Bugs carrots21:55, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

@Star Mississippi:, noted. Thanks. AldezD (talk) 14:05, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
You need to strike all comments alleging sockpuppetry on my part. ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:07, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
@Baseball Bugs: I don't need to strike anything. I asked an admin to check related edits by two registered and two additional IP users. You, on the other hand, need to review WP:WIN, WP:BLP1E, WP:BLPPRIMARY and WP:SIGCOV. Have a great day. AldezD (talk) 14:13, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
You should do likewise. You seem obsessed. ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:14, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
@Baseball Bugs: Should do what likewise? Review WP guidelines? AldezD (talk) 14:17, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Definitely. All I've heard from you is personal opinions about what should or should not be in an article. Also, what's the answer to what the cutoff line should be? ←Baseball Bugs carrots14:18, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
You should, however, strike your comments pertaining to myself. I have nothing to do with your dispute with Baseball Bugs, so don't drag me into it. Mlb96 (talk) 19:06, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
I see that you have retracted your accusation. Thank you. Mlb96 (talk) 19:07, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Care needed

The issue you asked me about seems to have been settled, but I've posted my own observations about it anyway. You may or may not like to read them. However, in the course of investigating the matter, I noticed that you have been engaging in a slow, long-term, edit-war at Talk:List of Jeopardy! contestants. I'm sure that an editor with your experience must be aware of the policy on edit-warring, so you need to stop, or risk being blocked. JBW (talk) 22:03, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

@JBW:, noted. I'll adjust my behavior. Thank you. AldezD (talk) 22:29, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
