Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Misplaced Pages Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 20:42, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Vietnam's External Links
Vietnam's external link section is littered with websites that have only Vietnamese text. After removing one a while back, I was accused of trying to sweep these sites under the rug. My stance is that the content of the site is virtually irrelevant if nobody is able to read it. Less than 0.1% of people visiting the English version of Misplaced Pages can speak/read Vietnamese. The links have no place on the English WP site. This vocal minorty should feel free to paste these links all over the Vietnamese version.
To support my case, please view the China and Thailand articles. Every external link has an English version, as it should if it desires to be linked to here.
I have not removed any links since being chastised, as it will most likely lead to an edit war. I've brought this up here in order to have a little back-up once this goes down, as I plan to remove the links in the near future. Thanks... VietGrant 05:18, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
where do we start?

- How can I participate with the project? Do I need any requirements or recommendations? Please forgive me if the rules already exist, but I am very new to this. I am eagerly to help as much as I can. FYI, I have my bachelor degree in Southeast Asian Studies, from Mahidol University, Thailand. And it is my pleasure if I can contribute my knowledge (more or less) for the good of the community. Thobphon 00:03, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Philippines conflict
I am interested if a page covering the Philippines insurgency does exist. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 19:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Association of Southeast Asian Nations
It's about time we centered our efforts on this and try to get it to at least GA status. There has been so much raw material after the 12th ASEAN Summit, surely we could refine and use it to bolster the article? (= Ariedartin JECJY 02:34, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Military History
I am proposing the formation of, and trying to drum up support for, a Southeast Asian task force within the Military History WikiProject. If there is anyone here who is interested in the subject - stretching from the origins of civilisation up through today - I invite you to please come and lend your support, questions or comments, here. No serious responsibilities or obligations connected to signing up, only another way to meet one another, to work together to expand and improve Misplaced Pages's coverage of these subjects. Thank you. LordAmeth 14:14, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Vietnam War
"Vietnam is a country, not a war" - Le Van Bang, former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States
Though I really like the above quote, the Vietnam War is a major topic under the purview of this WikiProject. Obviously, the war, political leaders involved, and a great many other related subjects fall under the scope of the WikiProject. But there are a multitude of articles on American soldiers who fought in Vietnam - many of whom have come to be much more well-known and/or important for something else entirely in the decades since. Do all of these people get a Southeast Asian Project Banner on their talk pages? What criteria do we want to go by on this issue? LordAmeth 14:20, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
