This is just a temporary userpage. I'm working on a complete userpage, which will be presented like an article on myself, and be more thorough, with lots of userboxes. I think my complete userpage will probably be ready by the end of August. For now, I'll just leave a simple introduction about myself and my activities as a Wikipedian.
I'm Hildanknight, a.k.a. J.L.W.S. The Special One, a 15-year-old Singaporean Chinese boy. My friends consider me intelligent, humorous and ecccentric. My passions are computers, chess and writing. I'm also a huge fan of Jack Neo movies and Chelsea F.C.
I joined Misplaced Pages on 11 February 2006 with three main aims in mind:
- To contribute information to articles on websites and Singapore TV shows/movies
- To meet online friends with similar interests
- To improve my English writing skills
The first article I wrote was GTalkr. My greatest contributions include writing the Google Groups and Homerun articles, and creating Requests for feedback, an initiative to help newcomers get feedback on articles they write.
When not writing articles or contributing information to articles, I am participating in discussions about Misplaced Pages processes, often on the village pump. I occasionally correct language errors and revert vandalism to articles on interest, although that's not my main activity.
I am currently looking for appropriate WikiProjects to join. WikiProjects will help me make Wikifriends with similar interests, so we can collaborate on articles on our interests. I'm a member of the Good Articles WikiProject and recently joined the Computer and video games WikiProject. I'm planning to join the Chess WikiProject. In addition, I'm trying to push for a Singapore WikiProject, although we could just move the SGpedians' notice board there. If you know any WikiProjects I would be interested in, or wish to tell me anything, please feel free to drop a message at my talk page. If you are particularly impressed with any of my contributions, please feel free to leave me a barnstar.
To-do list
If you wish to collaborate with me on any of the tasks/articles listed, please feel free to drop me a note on my talk page.
- The Yahoo! article needs to be more well-organized. I have created the History of Yahoo! and List of Yahoo!-owned sites and services sub-article. The "Important events" and "Yahoo!-owned sites and services" sections need to be removed, and the "History" section trimmed with a link to the History of Yahoo! sub-article, which covers the topic in more detail. Next, add a section summarizing the services Yahoo! provides (between the "History" and "Criticisms" section), with a link to the List of Yahoo!-owned sites and services sub-article. Once everything is done, send the article for Peer Review, then nominate it for Good Article.
- Following merger of Netscape, Peer Review it and nominate it for Good Article once any significant concerns are addressed.
- Expand the Friendster article to provide thorough coverage on the features of the online social networking service. Add some screenshots where appropriate.
- Clean up and re-write the AdventureQuest article, providing in-game screenshots for verification where appropriate. - in progress
- Improve RuneScape to Good Article. Collaborate with others to address issues and send article for Peer Review.
- Improve Neopets to Good Article. Collaborate with others to address issues and send article for Peer Review.
- Do further expansion to Google Groups article I wrote, adding information about Google-owned groups. Add references where neccesary. Update "Features" section to include new features and update screenshots as well. Fix any newbie mistakes of mine. Once completed, send article for Peer Review by the end of August so it can be nominated for Good Article in early September.
- Do further expansion to Homerun (film) article I wrote, adding information about Homerun's performance in the Golden Horse Awards and a cast list. Fix any newbie mistakes of mine. Once completed, send article for Peer Review so it can become a Good Article.

- Cleanup Saint Hilda's Secondary School article.
Stubs
Writing articles is not easy. Therefore, I am considering expanding my horizons and engaging in a new activity: the mass creation of stubs of interest. Generally, such stubs are on specific fields in my areas of interest that I have familiarity but not expertise with. Such stubs are likely to be up to three paragraphs long, sometimes with an included picture.
Below is a list of stubs I wish to create if I decide to engage in the activity of mass creation of stubs. Please don't beat me to it unless you can start with something better than three paragraphs and a picture.
Wang Baoqiang, Marcus Chin, Huang Wenyong, MC King, Richard Low, Patricia Mok, Huang Po Ju, Zheng Xiang Bin, Ashley Leong, Xiao Li Yuan, Four11, Yahoo!
