Life and career
Jacqueline Patricia Budden was born on 16 September 1957 in Southwark, London. She had a son, Brett and a daughter, Jade with her partner Andrew Goody, a former pimp who died of a heroin overdose in 2005. Budden has struggled with drug addiction throughout her life. Following her daughter's rise to fame on the third series of Big Brother, Budden appeared in various reality series alongside her including Tabloid Tales and Bo' Selecta! before appearing in Goody's own series Jade's Salon and Just Jade. In 2006, Budden appeared in an episode of the Living TV show Extreme Makeover UK. In January 2007, Budden entered the Celebrity Big Brother house alongside Goody and her boyfriend Jack Tweed to compete in the fifth series. Budden was the first housemate to be evicted on Day 8 in a surprise backdoor eviction. In 2008, Budden appeared in two episodes of The Friday Night Project. Following her daughter's cervical cancer diagnosis in 2009, Budden made appearances in Goody's documentaries including Jade: Bride to Be, Jade's Wedding and Jade: With Love. Since Goody's death in March 2009, Budden has made guest appearances on various television shows including This Morning and Good Morning Britain, the former of which she discussed selling her daughter's childhood possessions after losing her income support. Budden later said she attempted suicide. She also campaigned for more women to attend their cervical cancer screenings. She has also co-starred in documentaries reflecting on Goody's life including Jade: A Year Without Her and Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain in 2012 and 2019 respectively.
