Zori Balayan is a contemporary Armenian writer and publicist. His work "Ojagh" became a thesis for revival of inter-ethnic strife over the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, which ultimately resulted in 1991-1994 Nagorno-Karabakh War between Armenia and Azerbaijan with a total of 30,000 fatalities and over a million refugees on both sides. Zori Balayan was placed on the Interpol's list of international criminals at the request of Azerbaijan, though in 2001, Armenia managed to exclude Balayan from this list.
