dear sir,

Iam from akkalkot taluka.I believe in only facts.If you see the past history of akkalkot and solapur(south solapur),you will find that all that areas were kannada dominated.My grand mother does not speak marathi.Our grand parents spoke only kannada.Do you know that solapur was called sonnalige in kannada before it was merged with maharastra?

There is no vandalism here. It seems that this is a border town, so there is a mixed Kannada, Marathi community. PLs someone get the census stats and put them in, and it would seem that there is a large group of both, why not have both langauges in the lead. And the claim about Marathi being govt and Kannada more general, need stats. Also why delete the info about Maharashtra-Karanataka border dispute?
