You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Misplaced Pages's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page:{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Request reason:
I don't really understand the issue here. "Not here to build an encyclopedia" — just as I was fixing much of the English version of the city's Misplaced Pages page, adding to the history, and now working on improving the introduction, I got this? I understand the issue with the acronym; I have made a report/request to lock it or take a look at it due to some conflict between me and another user. I fully understand my mistakes in how I tried to fix the problem. In the end, I kept his version but added other explanations of the acronym, yet he deleted it twice.Sorry, why am I being accused of being someone else? Can't you see my IP address showing that I'm in Quartier administratif, Safi? I have no idea how else to prove that I'm not this Yassine person other than you checking my IP address if you want. If you want to check when I first made this account, go ahead. It was right when I did the first change to the acronym after a girl I study with (Rihana) and I started doing Instagram posts about our city. Perhaps you'd like to discuss this on another platform that makes conversation easier? It's such a strange amount of difficulty just to try and expand the small and barely written English page of the city.
Ah, I see where the issue is now. I saw Yassine's logs and noticed that he goes around attacking all Maghrebi Misplaced Pages pages, deleting anything related to Arabs as they are "erasing Tamazight" or something similar. No, I simply included the same explanation as in the Arabic version of the wiki. At first, I deleted the original English Misplaced Pages explanation, for which I apologized, and tried to converse with the person who made that entry, but he simply deleted my attempt to talk to him. So then I opted to fully add all the reasoning for the acronym, which included his explanation, but then I got blocked, I suppose.
(added context) I live in Safi, Morocco, and I'm adding content to represent my city accurately. My IP should verify my location. It seems the person reporting my edits might misunderstand my intentions, especially regarding including the French and Tamazight names for Safi in the introduction. This inclusion should be acceptable, considering that a significant percentage of the city's population is Tamazight, and the name "Safi" means "river" in Tamazight. It's perplexing why this detail continues to be blocked, and I hope this matter is thoroughly reviewed. Other versions of this Misplaced Pages page, such as the Spanish and Portuguese ones, include even more extensive details without issue. Any bias against French, or Tamazight is strange, especially from someone not from my city. I only aim to provide a comprehensive and accurate representation of Safi.Notes:

You are believed to be a WP:SOCK of Yassine181. CU data is Inconclusive but you need to address this in your unblock request. --Yamla (talk) 14:35, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- done! ElijahOF (talk) 14:40, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Skitash:, can you explain why you tagged this account as a sockpuppet? — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 05:16, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- Apart from the fact that this user's edits on Safi, Morocco closely resemble those by YassinRi (a sockpuppet of Yassine181), I've reported ElijahOF to WP:AIV for sockpuppetry, so I assumed that the user was blocked based on my report. Skitash (talk) 11:35, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's a bit strange your assumption is based on a word for word translation of the French and Arabic version of this wiki. ElijahOF (talk) 13:01, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- No, I just find it rather odd that both of you were translating text from other Wikipedias and adding unsourced WP:OR native names, especially given that this account was made shortly after YassinRi was blocked for sockpuppetry. Skitash (talk) 13:33, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- I was new to Misplaced Pages and still trying to understand how things work as I was adding the missing parts from the page, you can see that from when I started to include more references of actual books and people by the end before I got blocked. And somethings are quite clear, I don't have to source 3 book over a literal word in tamzight ElijahOF (talk) 13:36, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- Tamazight* ElijahOF (talk) 13:37, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- To add to this, as I clearly forgot to address Skitash's complaint, the English Misplaced Pages itself asks to translate the more well-written Wiki pages of Safi. I made this account to work on my city's underdeveloped English information as I was working with others in my city to increase its online presence. Being someone who studies English studies here, the occurrence of me being close to Yassine Ban is quite strange, as I haven't ventured much outside the Safi Wiki page itself, except once to fix a clear mistake where someone listed Eid Adha as a wedding-related event, which is completely false. Of course, you reverted that as well.
- However, I am not claiming that I didn't make any mistakes, as I had not read the rules at the time and caused an edit war. Nevertheless, I also recommend that you engage in conversation when I try to reach out to you instead of just filling my page with warnings and deleting my attempts to talk to you and reach a respectful outcome. Hello ElijahOF, I am responding to your email on-wiki for the sake of transparency. I am sure that it is frustrating that your request is still open after more than a month. However, requests are reviewed by volunteers, so it is sometimes necessary to be very patient. It is possible that your request will be procedurally declined if it does not attract anyone to review it. If that happens, I recommend that you read WP:GAB and WP:DR and then submit another, much more concise unblock request that focuses on your own past and future conduct and does not discuss the behavior of other editors.
You can also try to convince me to lift your block as the blocking administrator. I would only be willing to do this conditionally. You would need to agree to refrain from editing pages related to Morocco. If you do not wish to agree to this, you are welcome to continue to pursue your unblock request. I would not object if another administrator wanted to unblock you and am also happy to answer any further questions you have on this page. ⇌ Jake Wartenberg 13:56, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
