The article is not internally-consistent

Information across various components of the articles appear to contradict each other somewhat, or provide somewhat different information:

Legend has it that King George III rewarded the island with a promise never to introduce taxes as compensation for their generosity, as one of the ships carried a member of the King's own family. While this remains a popular legend, the story is not true.

Compared to:

The legend behind the lack of taxation comes from the Wreck of the Ten Sail, when a British prince was supposedly involved in a shipwreck off the north coast of Grand Cayman. Luckily, a local spotted the shipwreck and swam to his aid, rescuing the Prince and his crew. Since that day the Prince declared that in gratitude for the help he received, the citizens of the country of the Cayman Islands would never pay tax. There is, however, no documented evidence for this story, nor even that a British prince was involved in the shipwreck.

Accuracy

Is Bermuda or The Cayman Islands the most populous British Overseas Territory? This page seems to contradict the claims of the “Bermuda” Wiki page. 2600:1700:100:C120:F46F:7960:B8C7:4C6A (talk) 09:22, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Rollback of potential WP:TE by possible WP:SPA

I have reverted the insertion of WP:UNDUE, WP:BIAS and WP:TE by blocked IP user as likely WP:SPA. Similar changes were made by this user to several related pages: Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Jamaicans, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Coromantee, Mixed-race Caymanians, Slave rebellion, Tacky's Rebellion, Turks & Caicos Creole, Turks & Caicos, and others.

Having compared the diffs to see if there was anything worth keeping, I have manually restored anything with RSes or which improved prose (if there was anything). Most changes were poorly sourced and added significant bias into the article, or simply removed existing information for no policy-based reason.

Notable Caymanians

This list was removed as unsourced. However, each person has a WP page, as per the guidance for the list, so they are, by definition, notable. I don't think it's needed to establish their individual notability in the list when their articles already (in theory) do that.

I'm not averse to removing the list because of policy, as I'm indifferent to these lists of "Notable " anyway, but thought it worth adding to the discussion for those who feel differently.

For the purposes of preserving what was there, the list is currently given in its entirety below:

My practice is to leave "notable residents" in a list if either the person's article connects them in a substantial manner to the place the article is about, or there is an citation to a reliable source making such connection. How substantial the connection needs to be is subject to discussion. Donald Albury 14:53, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
