Map of results of 1890 election
Elections to Manchester City Council were held on Saturday, 1 November 1890. One third of the councillors seats were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. Owing to the extension of the city's boundaries, seven new wards (Blackley & Moston , Crumpsall , Longsight , Miles Platting , Newton Heath , Openshaw , and St. Mark's ) elected all of their councillors for the first time.
The council remained under no overall control .
