On December 25, 2024, Christmas Day, a car was driven into four pedestrians along the wrong side of the road of Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho in Westminster, London, England, with one pedestrian left in critical condition.

A 31-year-old man named Anthony Gilheaney was arrested as a suspect and charged with 4 counts of attempted murder. The Metropolitan Police stated that they were not treating the incident as terror-related and that the suspect was involved in an altercation at a nightclub prior to the attack.'
