The Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year is an annual award presented by the Football Writers' Association to whom its members deem the best football player in England. It is now considered to be among the two most prestigious of individual awards in domestic English football alongside the PFA Players' Player of the Year award. It has been conferred every year since 1948.
