Robot Rock: A descriptive term coined by Joshua Homme, frontman for the band Queens of the Stone Age to describe the band's riff-oriented, monotonous, heavy and repetitious sound. Homme has stated that he "wanted to create a heavy sound based on a solid jam, and just pound it into your head", and thus a new definition was born. See also Stoner Rock or Desert Rock.
