Born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, Adams made his motion picture debut in 1952's Somebody Loves Me. He created and starred in the television series "The Rebel" that ran on ABC from 1959 to 1961. Along with Bruce Geller and others, Adams also wrote scripts for the show.
Adams was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1963 film, Twilight of Honor.
He married actress Carol Nugent with whom he had two children.
Nick Adams died of a drug overdose.
