Carrot Top, is an American prop comedian known for his thick, curly red hair and often self-parodying style of comedy. His legal name is Scott Thompson (born February 25, 1965 in Cocoa Beach, FL).
Early life
Thompson grew up IN A DUMPSTER BEHIND ARBYES WHERE HE SUSTAINED HIMSELF OFF OF SPOILED MEAT AND FECAL MATTER UNTIL THE AGE OF 12. HE THEN BEGAN DOING REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD COMEDY AT THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB WHERE HE WAS CONSTANLY BEAT UP AND HUMILIATED. HE CHANGED HIS NAME TO CARROT TOP FOR SAFTEY REASSON AFTER THE KIDS AT THE CLUB HATCHED A PLOT TO KILL HIM.
Career
According to his official site, Carrot Top spends fifteen weeks a year doing live performances in Las Vegas (currently performing at the Luxor Hotel) and does over a hundred shows a year on tour. His routine is most known for his use of props.
Carrot Top has also appeared in movies, including 1998's Chairman of The Board, and served as a spokesman and appeared in commercials for 1-800-CALL-ATT. He was the continuity announcer for Cartoon Network between 1995 and 1999. He also recorded a commentary track for the 2002 Roger Avary film The Rules of Attraction.
Carrot Top produced and starred in an early morning show on Cartoon Network called Carrot Top's AM Mayhem from 1994-1996
Carrot Top has also been frequently parodied, often in a manner mocking his routine as unfunny. Such examples include Mr. Show (in which David Cross appears as "Blueberry Head"), King of the Hill ("Celery Head"), Family Guy ("Carrot Scalp"), MADtv ("Broccoli Top"), and several Achewood comic strips. Even his Scrubs appearance as himself shows him being unfunny to the present interns.
