Copyright violations
Hi there - you can't post whole sets of lyrics into Misplaced Pages, as this breaks copyright. Small samples of lyrics as part of a larger article are considered ok - called fair use - to demonstrate what a song is about. If you think something has been incorrectly labelled as a copyvio, please discuss it, don't go removing listings from Misplaced Pages:Copyright problems. Thanks, sjorford →•← 09:04, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Company logos should be okay - see McDonalds for example. And yes - you could be blocked if you do keep posting copyright violations, so if you're not sure if a particular posting is okay, then it's best to ask somebody first. While you're entirely free to present your email address on this page, I recommend that you do not. It's likely that presenting it will attract more spam. Anyone wanting to send you mail can do so by clicking "E-mail this user" (if you have provided your email address to WP), and this process will not reveal your email address to him or her -- which is a good thing if the mail is abusive or stupid (which unfortunately is possible). -- Hoary 09:20, 2005 Jun 25 (UTC)
- Er, thank you very much for the barnstar, which I shall flaunt with pride . . . but really, that was very minor help indeed. I'd go easy on the handing out of awards, unless you really think that somebody has put hours of work into some otherwise thankless aspect of WP.
