Courtney Love is a singer and guitarist for the band Hole and occasional actress. Courtney is the widow of Kurt Cobain (1967-1994), singer in the band Nirvana, with whom she has one daughter, Frances Bean.

In her early career Courtney modelled a 'baby doll' look. Courtney's style has since evolved, and she has modelled for more sophisticated, designer labels.

Courtney attempted to begin a 'punk rock femme supergroup' during summer/autumn 2001 called Bastard. Currently 'Hole' are involved in a law suit.

Courtney Love has also been an outspoken critic of the music industry, which she says exploits musicians unfairly.

Courtney has recently (October 2001) performed in some solo shows as an opening act.
