Template:Future Project Rumble is an upcoming attraction at Universal Studios Florida. It will be an all new type of outdoor roller coaster similar to Hollywood Dream: The Ride at Universal Studios Japan. When it opens in Spring 2009, it will replace The Boneyard and may also replace Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast or Twister...Ride it Out.
Attraction Facts
To make way for the new attraction, The Boneyard closed on January 21, 2008 and possibly either Jimmy Neutron or Twister may close in the Fall of 2008. Project Rumble was confirmed on January 11, 2008 when Universal filed documents with Orange County to build the 'The Project Rumble Ride System', a synonym for the attraction, and stated on the document that the ride was to be constructed by 'Maurer Rides gmbH of Munchen, Germany' anorther synonym for the ride's constructor Maurer Sohne of Munich, Germany. Also stated on the document was that the ride would be built on 'lots 6 and 12' of the park's land. Bill Davis, the CEO of Universal Orlando Resort, also told the press that "Universal is planning something big for 2009". No theme is known as of yet, but there has been a very slight rumor that it will be a Hollywood films theme. It is also rumored to be painted completely gold.
Upcoming Ride
Project Rumble will be an inverted roller coaster wich shall do numerous loops. It will have speakers and buttons on each car's seats which will allow guests to choose a song or recording to listen to while on the ride. A shoulder bar will be used as a safty restraint.
Attraction Summary
The current plans for project rumble involve a boarding area near or inside Sound Stage 33 of the park. From there, it will blast around the former Boneyard and around the empty space between the park's other sound stages. It may however be limited to only a few loops or inversions. After this, it will return to the boarding station.
Construction
Construction has already starting planning as of December 5, 2007 and will begin in February 2008. During the construction, walls will be placed around the future area advertising and giving a preview of the attraction. The ride may be completed by 2009.
Fan Anticipation
The attraction was followed by fans months before it had been officialy confirmed. It is also highly anticipated, But some fans believe that Universal may not require another attraction for some time after this attraction opens.
