Got your comment on my talk page. Could you show me a link to the AfD you're talking about? I'd like to look into it. Mangojuice 17:00, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your message. We should work together to create at least small pages about those great persons. I also wish you a nice time around - wiki-experience is really nice. Please remain in touch. --Bhadani 11:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
You are most welcome - I am looking into the matter. OK. --Bhadani 14:08, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I could not pay attention to the matter. After 2nd April 2006, I shall surely do somehting. We shall work on the matter, and do something. I regret the delay. --Bhadani 14:43, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry
I was leaving a message on Bhadani's talk page, when I noticed you asking him for his opinion on your new stub article on the Pontificial Academy of Sciences.
Unfortunately, although it's a very nice stub, a considerably larger article already exists under the spelling Pontifical Academy of Sciences. I've incorporated the information from your stub into the larger article, and converted yours into a redirect.
I do hope this doesn't discourage you from further participation in the project. DS 14:13, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- It is fine. we all shall surely be around to encourage Vr. --Bhadani 14:16, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Marxist philosophy before Marx
Marxist philosophy before Marx has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt the article is "inherently POV". Please refer to WP:NPOV for the relevant policy. You should also please check out WP:OR, and ensure that the information in this article is directly referenced by third-party sources, and not original conclusions. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.
If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the prod notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. NickelShoe (Talk) 01:08, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- You'll want to be more specific on the reference. What is the actual article in Funk and Wagnalls you're referring to? Does the article specifically say that these guys were similar to Marx, or is that a conclusion you've come up with? If it's your conclusion (even if it's correct), it's inappropriate for Misplaced Pages, because it's unverifiable until you get it published somewhere. NickelShoe (Talk) 23:24, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. I was about to nominate this article for deletion for the following reason, but I think you should have a chance to comment first:
- Stub largely redundant with information already at History of socialism and History of socialism in Great Britain (see WP:POVFORK); I see little that is mergeworthy here. Also, the title is rather counterintuitive, and the claims are unspecific and unsourced (see WP:OR, WP:V) - notwithstanding an unspecific reference to an encyclopedia. The author is encouraged to contribute to the aforementioned existing articles.
- Also, I second NickelShoe's comments. Best regards, Sandstein 05:28, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. I was about to nominate this article for deletion for the following reason, but I think you should have a chance to comment first:
Hi again.I discussed the article with some friends and they suggested that the title can be altered-Pre-Marx Socialists would be more appropriate.I seem to agree but is ther any way this can be done? Thanks. Also I must apologise-the book History of Scandinavia is by Derry-I had omitted the author's name(Vr 05:23, 23 March 2006 (UTC))
- You can move the article with the tab at the top that says "move". But don't capitalize "socialists" if you do. Check out WP:NC for the guidelines on how to name articles. Per Sandstein's comments, your efforts might be better spent improving existing articles on socialism, which will be higher traffic anyway, I assume. But not to tell you how to spend your time here. NickelShoe (Talk) 05:30, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Mani Shankar Aiyar
I have read the section you added to the article, and the comment by the person who removed it; thank you for coming to me for help instead of getting into a fight about this.
Unfortunately, I have to say that you phrased the new section extremely poorly, such that the anonymous editor was justified in removing it. Many of your statements are suitable for inclusion in the article, but not all: for instance, we don't need to compare his intelligence to that of his brother.
Here are some of the facts, boiled down to neutral language:
- Aiyar has often been the subject of controversy for his public remarks.
- Aiyar was censured by the Press Council of India for referring to (who?), the widow of (who?), as a "gangster's moll" .
- Aiyar was once physically beaten by Amar Singh, for his public remarks. When did this happen? What were the remarks?
- He has described himself as Rajiv Gandhi's "willing slave". Did he? Were those his exact words? Can you provide a source for that quote? If not, then it doesn't belong in the article.
- Aiyar has been criticized for staying at Sainik Farm, which is an illegal settlement (why is it illegal? Do you mean he lives there?), despite being a cabinet minister.
Once you have answered these questions, I feel certain that you will be able to incorporate those statements into the article without further complaint (if they are suitably phrased). Although I doubt this is quite the response you were hoping for from an administrator, I hope it is satisfactory. DS 15:36, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Progress
All right, I've tidied up the article a bit more after you re-inserted the facts in a more neutral fashion; I don't think anyone reasonable would have a problem with the article as it is currently presented.
Can you fill in the redlinked articles such as Sheela Dixit? DS 14:59, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
AAAS
I have dared to create a page CURRENT MEMBERSHIP OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES.Please let me know if this is an inappropriate trnsgression on my part.(Vr 06:39, 22 April 2006 (UTC))]
- Transgression is too strong a word. Inappropriate certainly - Weyes had placed a {{speedy}} tag on it and I agreed with them. You first fault was of course PUTTING THE TITLE ALL IN CAPITALS. Why? You have edited enough articles to know our conventions - your title shouted at people THIS IS A SILLY ARTICLE CREATED BY A NEWBIE. I also think that: List of members of European Academy of Sciences and Arts is not really encyclopedic.
- What I suggest you do for the AAAS is:
- Create a specimen list at user:Vr/AAAS containing no more than 100 names but ...
- Properly wikified and in alphabetical or discipline/alphabetical order
- Leave a message at talk:American Academy of Arts and Sciences (with links to it from any other talk pages you feel appropriate) which ...
- States what title a complete version of the article would have and asks if people think it worth creating.
- Sorry, but you mainly caused the problem yourself by SHOUTING and lack of formatting. -- RHaworth 08:22, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Always free and always busy
Thanks for your message - we should start now. --Bhadani 11:24, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Kindly let me have the list - I will create stubs. We shall see the issue of re-creating the page deleted. Plz do not worry, sometimes, pages get deleted and then again re-created - we will present things with a better perspective and context this time. --Bhadani 09:07, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- By the way, I suggest that you please write few words about you on your user page. --Bhadani 10:12, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Nice to learn about you, the learned one. I shall very shortly create the stubs, if not already existing in wikipedia. Thanks for your support. --Bhadani 07:09, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

As the template you added to the page says "If the block message says that your IP address is blocked or that your IP address was recently used by a blocked user, please paste the block message or post your IP address below as we have no way of unblocking you if your username itself was not blocked.", since I don't have that information there is nothing I can do. --pgk 07:01, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Venkat -- you were apparently the victim of "collateral damage" of an IP block. If you are willing to reveal the IP address you were using when this happened, we can put a note on the IP's page that blocks should be kept short to avoid this sort of thing. I would als be interested if in the message you got saying I blocked you a rangeblock was mentioned, or if it was just a single IP address block. I would also like to know if your institute uses dynamic or static IPs. regards, dab (ᛏ) 12:13, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- no problem, it is annoying to be blocked innocently. But in cases of severe disruption, Misplaced Pages sometimes needs to temporarily block certain IP ranges just to protect itself. I was asking for your IP details to get an idea if the disruption actually came from your institution (meaning, the perpetrator would be one of your co-workers), but if your institution uses dynamic IPs, this would not be likely, and he would just live in your wider area. We saw Mumbai IPs in the past, so I assume you are in Mumbai? (if you aren't, that may just mean he used open proxies, or that there was a collaboration of several people in this, there are many possibilities). regards, dab (ᛏ) 13:01, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Your suggestion
It is really nice to listen from you, after a long long gap. I do appreciate your views. I shall be sending you an e-mail. I also regret that I could not do anything as regards creation of the stubs as suggested by you. Still, I do hope to create few stubs based on your feedback. Regards abd all the best. --Bhadani 06:27, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- I will send you a detailed e-mail (say, 2500 words) within a week, with reasons to nominate the President of Wikimedia Foundation for the Nobel Peace Prize. UNICEF perhaps got this in 1965. There are many reasons for our President to get the nomination. Please wait for a week. I am working on matter. I thank you for your interest in the matter. It shall be a recognition to the wikipedians. Regards. --Bhadani 14:43, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
The Prize
The manuscript with reasons for Nobel Peace Prize to President of Wikimedia Foundation is ready - being vetted by some of my freinds. I shall mail you by the weekend. Regards. --Bhadani 14:28, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Mani Sankar Iyer
It may be tru he is one among 532 MPs in this country, but we can't deny that he is one of the MP from TN whose name is known to all, and not just he is a MP. A leader is a leader even if he hold or does not hold a position. Every leader will be into controversies including Adhvani or Vajpayee or Rajiv Gandhi or even Mahatma. Few people like them and few does not.
Misplaced Pages being a information center, there will not be any harm keeping his profile who is popular among 60 million people. If you have any opinion against him, please use a forum to discuss that and let wikipedia give only information.
The nomination
Nothing in particular. I was wondering how you were planning to go about with the process. Also, does he know about this? All the best! -- thunderboltz05:56, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of the exact procedure, but I think you are on the right track. Do you have contacts with the Nobel foundation that could help us with this?
Concerning the Mani Shankar Iyer issue, the use of both controversial politician as well as brilliant politician amounts to POV. Its best to leave out such adjectives, as they tend to be very subjective. The controvesies mentioned need to be backed up with references. If you feel an edit war is going on, then you can request page protection at WP:RFPP, citing your points. Though that should be done only as a last resort, after trying to solve the matter by an amicable discussion. I've left him a message on his talk page. Let me know if my further help is required. And before I signing off, let me clarify that I am not a SysOp. Cheers! -- thunderboltz18:17, 19 August 2006 (UTC)- Would you be able to attend the wiki-meet up at Bangalore? Nomination
Hi Mr.Bhadani
The Peace award for this year would be announced on 13th Oct.Nominations would be invited after that.I woudl laove to have your input and gudance-maybe you have found somebody else to nominate. That woudl be fine as long as teh nomination is made.
Regards(Vr 06:38, 20 September 2006 (UTC))
- Hello friend. I think that the nomination for the Noble Peace Prize by your friends should be in favor of the present president of Wikimedia Foundation. His contribution to creating the largest virtual community in human history and use of wiki-medium is unparallel contribution to bring together to a virtual reality the global village. I shall send you an email (directly as I have your mail ID with me) within a week detailing my views and also give a copy on my talk page / other places which are more visible. We should continue concerted efforts on the long term basis not only for the nomination but also for the award of the Prize. Ultimately, he shall get one: my intuition is rather strong, if not this year than within next few years. Regards. --Bhadani 14:24, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Romen Ghosh
A tag has been placed on Romen Ghosh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Romen Ghosh is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and leave a note on Talk:Romen Ghosh, explaining how Romen Ghosh is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. (aeropagitica) 10:30, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Mani Shanker Aiyer
I know for a fact that he lives at Sainik Farms. That doesnt help me; the link merely states that he lived there in 2000. However, the implication that he continues to live there after the SC ruling - which is not substantiated in the link, by the way - is original research and inadmissible, unless we find a specific link noting that Mani lives there. (This shouldnt be hard.) Hornplease 12:33, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Creation of categories
Mr.Bhadani Although my edit count is over 1000,I had until recently not created any new category-after reading Josef Mengele's page I felt he should be identified as a racist. To my surprise, hthe page was CSD'd.I would value your advice.I think people like Mengele and Hitler are easily identified as racists without any dispute.Regards(Vr 06:17, 22 January 2007 (UTC))
- I may be wrong, but many times I have felt that we are creating an encyclopedia by consensus and not a real encyclopedia as such! This may be a strength as well as a weakness of wikipedia. In my opinion, ultimately, the collective wisdom of the community prevails, and in a large online community associated with wikipedia none is sure of anyone's real credentials and worth and one has to compromise on many issues here. T%his being the case, you should not think much about such matters, please continue to add value - someone shall be there to deduct value, but ultimately the gross value shall continue to grow and the wikipedia shall continue to become stable and more reliable. Regards. --Bhadani 16:54, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for reporting that IP.. however next time post on the main page at WP:AIV, not the talk page. In my experience the Admins seem really good about blocking IPs and users, but not School IPs for some reason.. just letting you know. Danski14 17:19, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
John Funder
Hi. While patrolling WP:RFP this evening, I saw a request to protect John Funder based on a dispute you are having with an IP user about some content. I took a look at it and would like to offer to you my opinion about the issue. Are you familiar with WP:BLP - Misplaced Pages's policy on biographies of living persons? This policy states that unsourced or poorly sourced information about a living person, particularly that which is negative, should be removed from articles immediately. When I took a look at the information which you have been adding, I am not certain that the sources would qualify as reliable sources. says at the bottom of that page that it is merely another internet encyclopedia - we should not be citing it, but, rather, use its sources. The only place in that mentions John Funder is a user-submitted comment. is a blog. Do you have any actual news sources that you could cite for this passage? If not, then, under WP:BLP, I do not believe that it should be added to the article. --BigDT 04:48, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, anything that you discussed from your interview with the university would not be allowable either. That would be original research. The standard for Misplaced Pages isn't merely "truth" - it's verifiability. There are plenty of facts about famous people that are true, but if a reputable, reliable source doesn't mention it, neither do we. In order for this information to be added to the article, it would need to be covered by a reliable source. That could be a newspaper, a book by a respected author, an official publication of the school, an article in a journal, etc. It may very well be that there is no reliable source that discusses this issue. If that's the case, then it cannot be in the article ... but we err on the side of caution when it comes to biographies of living persons ... and any other article for that matter. --BigDT 06:28, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
re. Nobel nom
Sorry for the late reply. I've been off wikipedia lately. Have you been able to contact someone who is in a position to pass on the nomination to the Nobel committee?--thunderboltz 07:03, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, that's sad. What kind of information was it that you were looking for. A lot of info on him is available on the internet. Reg. the link you gave, I'm afraid it does not pass as reliable. The prime reason, is that the site contains material from Misplaced Pages, which is not a reliable source. It is a kind of mirror website of Misplaced Pages. Hope that helps.--thunderboltz 14:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Top 1000 Scientists: From the Beginning of Time to 2000 AD (second nomination)
I've nominated this article for deletion. It still has no sources besides the book itself, and having got hold of a copy of the book, I find that it actually makes no claims to be derived from an authoritative survey, so I see no notability. Since you've edited the article or participated in the old AfD you might like to comment. As there has been confusion about the book's actual content, I'd be happy to back up all the assertions I've made by Emailing you scans of the relevant pages.
