Translations are published online on a daily basis. Range of topics varies, but most of the translated articles are dedicated to Russia. The project has a daily audience of 70000-90000 visitors, most of them Russians. The project was masterminded and directed by Yaroslav Ognev who served as its editor-in-chief since its foundation.
The service is affiliated with the RIA Novosti news agency and is sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications. Their translations are frequently cited by Russian media. The site has a forum where the new publications are discussed. It also invites leading foreign journalists and editors to discuss the publications with Russian readers. For instance, Stanislaw Lem's conference with the inosmi.ru readers (on 17 Jan. 2006) was the last press conference before his death. The site ranks 191st among the Russia-based websites.
