Simon Walter Hackett is the co-founder (with Robyn Taylor in 1991) and managing director of Internode Systems, Agile Communications and Stemme Australia, the Australian representative of Stemme AG. He is also a board member of the Australian Network for Arts and Technology.
Hackett is a former board member of the Adelaide Fringe Festival and m.Net Corporation. He co-founded and is a former director of The Internet Society of Australia, and is the founding and current president of the South Australian Internet Association.
He created the Internet Toaster in 1990.
He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Adelaide, holding a Bachelors Degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society.
Hackett is frequently active in the Internode forum on Whirlpool..
