It derives it's name from a sage, Baba Sidh. This small town is hustling with the activity because of lots of landmarks features. Very near to this village, is Chinmaya Ashram or Sandeepany Himalayas. In this Ashram, is the Samadhi of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda jee. Sidhbari is where is located the Karmapa (Ogyen Trinley Dorje)'s temporary residence, at Gyuto Monastery. Sidhbari is about six kilometers from Dharamsala, the place where the 14th Dalai Lama lives.
