Cecilia Bolocco, Chilean TV entertainer. 1987 Miss Universe.
Born on May 19, 1965 in Santiago, Chile. Father, Enzo Bolocco, mother, Rose Marie Fonck. Silbings, Juan Pablo, Verónica, Diana and Rodrigo (deceased).
Attended primary and secondary school at the Santiago College school. Took a year of Civil Engineering at the Unversity of Chile before dropping out and Constume Design at Incacea Institute.
Chosen Miss Chile for Miss Universe on April 20, 1987. Won the Miss Universe beauty contest on May 26, 1987, the first Chilean in doing so.
During her year-long reign, she lived in Los Angeles, California.
Began a television career in Chile in the show Porque hoy es sábado (Because it's Saturday) in National Television. She then co-hosted Martes 13 (Tuesday the 13th) on Canal 13.
Married American producer Michael Young on March, 1990, in Santiago, Chile. The media would call that marriage "the wedding of the century."
She worked as anchor-women for the Spanish news section at CNN in June, 1990. Then, on Telemundo, where she hosted the show La buena vida (The Good Life), Ocurrió así (The Way It Happened) and Esta noche con Cecilia Bolocco (Tonight With Cecilia Bolocco), for which she won two Emmy awards.
She then began acting on a Mexican soap opera called Morelia, which was aired on more than 70 countries of the Americas and Europe.
She ended her relationship with husband Young around this time. Because there is no divorce law in Chile, she could not divorce him.
She co-hosted the closing night of the 36th Viña del Mar Festival on February, 1995, in Chile.
In October 1996 she took the job as co-host in one of the highest ratings shows in Chilean television history, Viva el lunes (Long Live Monday), along Kike Morandé and comedian Álvaro Salas.
At the same time, she hosted a radio show and appeared in her own TV show La noche de Cecilia (The Night of Cecilia).
In February 2000, she became an established hostess for the Viña del Mar Festival, with partner and long time host Antonio Vodanovic.
During this time she was romantically linked with former Viva el lunes partner Kike Morandé and songwriter Keko Yungue.
By July of 2000 there were rumors in the press that she and former Argentine president Carlos Menem were dating.
She married Menem on May 26, 2001 in La Rioja, Argentina, to a full crowd.
