Neelima Azeem (born Kanwal Azeem) is an Indian film and TV actress, and the mother of Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor from first husband, Bollywood actor Pankaj Kapoor. They divorced when Shahid Kapoor was 3 years old.

Personal life and education

Her father was Anwar Azeem, a prominent Marxist journalist and author.

She got married in 2007 to the singer Ustad Raza Ali Khan, a classical singer. He is the son of Ustad Munnawar Ali Khan and the great-grandson of the legendary classical vocalist, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.

Career

Azeem has majored in Indian classical dance - Kathak), and is known in India for her TV shows. She also worked in Hindi movie, Sadak opposite Deepak Tijori.
