After a start in the world of journalism, Gaiman was picked up by DC Comics editor Karen Berger to revive the series "Black Orchid." His best-known work is the Sandman comics series, which chronicles the adventures of Dream, the personification of the human imagination. Gaiman has also written numberous novels:
- Good Omens (with Terry Pratchett)
- Smoke And Mirrors (a collection of short stories)
