Aang is a fictional character in the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender that has been on Nickelodeon since February 23 2005. Aang is 112 years old and is an Airbender. Although he is that old, he was frozen in an iceberg for a century; therefore he looks, sounds, and acts like he's 12. He is trying to end a war that has been going on for 100 years as well as trying to learn all the elements to defeat Fire Lord Ozai of the Fire Nation. Aang has to defeat him before the end of summer because a comet will come that will make the Firebenders practically invincible. With the help of his friends, Sokka and Katara, and of the spirit of the former Avatar, Avatar Roku, he will try to defeat the Fire Nation, which can only be done by the Avatar.
