Babur, a descendent of both Timur Timerlane, the legendary Turk warrior, and Ghengis Kahn, the legendary Mongolian warrior, was the founder of the Mughal Empire. He started an empire in Central Asia, eventually ruling out of Kabul in present-day Afghanistan. In 1526, he invaded the Punjab, defeating Ibrahim Lodi, the last sultan of the Delhi Sultanate. He died in 1530.
