Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America was written by U.S. State Department-trained Arabic linguist Paul David Gaubatz and Washington-based investigative journalist and Hoover Institute fellow Paul Sperry, with a forward by U.S. North Carolina Congresswoman Sue Myrick, attracting the endorsement of three other U.S. Congressmen--Trent Franks (R-AZ), John Shadegg (R-AZ), and Paul Broun (R-GA)--as well as media attention in mid October 2009.

In November 2009 the book received further attention when federal judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ordered several source documents removed from Gaubatz's website, after CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations) had brought a federal lawsuit against Gaubatz and his son (who had obtained the documents by posing for several months as a CAIR intern) for allegedly stealing the documents.

Because of the four U.S. congressmen's endorsements, the book has prompted news coverage about CAIR on six separate networks: CNN, CSPAN, Fox News, MSNBC, CBN, and Al-Jazeera.

In the wake of the Fort Hood shooting this book has since received newspaper editorial endorsements from National Security and Pentagon journalist Bill Gertz writing in the November 12th edition of the Washington Times and another Congressman Tom Tancredo (formerly R-CO) writing in the November 6th edition of the The Denver Post.
