Revision as of 00:17, 17 November 2009 by Braden1 (talk | contribs) (→References)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)George Braden was a politician from Northwest Territories, Canada. He served as the second premier of the territory.
Prior to seeking election to the Legislative Assembly of Northwest Territories, George Braden had worked exstensively with Bud Drury a former federal cabinet minister, who was assigned to look at further constitutional development in Northwest Territories.
Some of the changes implemented would allow for more representation in the legislative council, removing the appointed commissioner and deputy commissioner from the executive council and allowing control of territorial affairs to elected members.
George Braden became the first elected leader of the modern era of Northwest Territories. He was retroactively given the title of Premier in February 1994.
Currently George Braden runs a firm in Ottawa, Ontario called Braden & Associates.
George's brother, Bill Braden is a current member of the Legislative Assembly of Northwest Territories having served since 1999.
