Born Dec. 26, 2000, in New York, Samuel Sevian is believed to be the youngest chess player to attain an expert's level rating (2001). He accomplished the feat in February, at 8 years, 2 months.

Samuel Sevian earned a spot on the 2010 All-America Chess Team.
