Joanie Dodds (born September 20, 1981, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania) is an American fashion model. Dodds currently resides in Hollywood, California. She had her debut television appearance as the runner-up on Cycle 6 of the CW reality TV series, America's Next Top Model.

Early life

Dodds is the oldest of five children, three of which are half brothers and sisters. She was born in Beaver Falls, and also lived in Rawson, Ohio for 7 years, and graduated from Cory-Rawson High School. Her parents divorced when Joanie was 3 years old, putting Dodds into shared custody with her sister Jennifer for years. Both of her parents remarried and had more children. Dodds's father, John, is a minister of the Churches of God in Mansfield, Ohio at Ridgeway First Church of God. Her mother is the purchasing manager for a steel company in Beaver Falls. In high school, Dodds was considered a goofy, fun girl, but never the popular one. After moving to Rawson, Dodds changed her demeanor, and became involved in cheerleading, track, theater, choir and student council. She was student-body president and senior class vice president her senior year as well as the vice president of the choir. She has been playing the saxophone and piano for over 15 years and was involved in concert, jazz, and marching bands until the tenth grade. After high school, she attended the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio. She was a computer science major and economics minor. During her time in college she was involved in Summerstock Theater Programs in which she starred in several shows, including "The Will Rogers Follies" and "Born Yesterday". She left university to follow her career in modeling after she was discovered at a ProScout event in Columbus, Ohio in September 2001. From ProScout, Dodds was signed with Paulines Agency in New York and Aria in Chicago. Dodds modeled in New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland before auditioning three times for America's Next Top Model in 2003 and 2004, finally getting called back in her third attempt. Dodds is also a big sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters and makes university and charity appearances to speak to the students and talk about the show and self esteem.

America's Next Top Model

Dodds was a cast member on America's Next Top Model, Cycle 6. On the show, she received five first call-outs, three covergirl of the week awards, and won one challenge. Although all the judges stated that they loved her portfolio, she did not win the competition; finishing runner-up to Dani Evans.

After ANTM

Dodds has also been signed with Elite Model Management in New York, Über-Warning Models and Elite Model Management in Hong Kong. Her print work credits include Oriential Daily, Indy Fan, Maniac,Salon City Magazine,Gavin Pants,MB Make-up, Zandra Rhodes Collection, and Elle. She is also a judge on the ANTM based modeling show called Vietnamesse Modeling Project.
