Alesha Dixon (born Alesha Anjanette Dixon on October 7 1978), is a British singer and dancer, former member of girl group Mis-Teeq. She appeared in FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2002, ranked #98. In 2005, she married rapper Michael Jr. Harvey (Mc Harvey from So Solid Crew).

Biography

Alesha Dixon's career began in 1999 when she met Sabrina Washington as they joined Dance Attic (a popular dance school in West London) and the both of them became a duo. In 2000 when both Alesha and Sabrina were auditioning they met with Su-Elise Nash and formed a trio. Soon they were signed to Telstar Records with the addition of a new member, Zena McNally, and they became the popular garage/r'n'b girls band Mis-Teeq. However, right after the release of their debut single "Why?", Zena left the band.

They went on and released their first album Lickin' On Both Sides on October 29 2001 featuring several singles such as "All I want", "One Night Stand", "B With Me" or "Roll On / This Is How We Do It". In 2003 they released a second album Eye Candy including hit single "Scandalous" which went on to be their most succesful release. Other singles included "Can't Get it Back" and "Style". Following the album, they began touring the US in 2004 and appeared in famous shows such as Jimmy Kimmel, Pepsi Smash and Carson Daly.

In 2005, Mis-Teeq made the decision to separate, each to pursue a solo career. On June 18 2005, Alesha married fiancé MC Harvey, a former So Solid Crew rapper from London. Recently, Alesha was signed to Polydor Records and has been working on new tracks ("Nasty", "Shadows", etc...) with many producers including Richard X. She is soon to have her debut Solo album released, which is expected around spring 2006.
