Geotrail is a Canadian online mapping company that promotes hiking and outdoor education through interactive online tools that help users plan their recreational experience.

History

Geotrail is headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and was founded in October of 2009. In May 2010, the company launched its web-software with the Royal Botanical Gardens, promoting its 37 kilometre trail network. The first of its kind in Ontario, the program not only displays the trails on interactive maps, contains photos of points of interest on each path, and a search tool to plan a trip based on a number of criteria including length, time, difficulty, but outdoor education programming as well.
