Martyn Godfrey was an English-Canadian author of childern's fantasy books. He was born in Birmingham, England but moved to Toronto Canada when he was eight. He graduated from university in 1974 as a teacher. An Edmonton Young Writers’ Conference held by the Edmonton Public Library, ,and was the Library’s writer-in-residence in 1989. He died in 2000.
