Arthur Leon "TJ" Armstrong (Jan. 26, 1982) is an American evangelist, Republican politician, and charitable event organizer. Armstrong was born in Cape Canaveral, Florida to an indigent mother and illegitimate father. At the age of four months, he underwent a severe assault from his older brother which led to his adoption. Armstrong was adopted by Arthur Armstrong, local businessman and Lucille Armstrong. At the age of seven, the Armstrongs relocated to Carbon Hill, AL.
After graduating from high school, Armstrong gained local publicity by becoming the youngest salesperson to be hired at a local dealership. This position allowed Armstrong to become well-known throughout the state and allowed him to expand his social circle.
In 2002, after an EF5 tornado destroyed most of Walker County, AL Armstrong was resposible for setting up a Red Cross shelter at the Carbon HIll Church of God of Prophecy, which served as a food and shelter location for thousands of people.
In 2008, Armstrong unsuccessfully ran for the office of Walker County Constable, having been disqualified from the race because of misfiled paperwork.
In 2009, Armstrong created and sponsored and event to benefit the American Cancer Society, raising money for the ACS Relay for Life program.
Armstrong was called to the ministry in February of 2011, and accepted the call shortly therafter. Since accepting the call, Armstrong has been allowed the opportunity to minister in several churches across the South, traveling in Alabama and Mississippi. Recently, Armstrong has expressed interest in seeking the Office of Coroner in 2014.
Armstrong is not married, and has one daughter, Addison. He is a resident of Jasper, AL.
