Tatyana Tolstaya is a modern Russian writer of short stories. She is also a TV-host, publicist, novelist, and essayist.
Her novel "Kys" (The Slynx) is an anti-utopia with literary allusions. Her short stories (English: On a Golden Porch) are read all over Russia. She is regarded as one of the formost popular writers by the general public. Her style is very elaborate and classic, her themes are unexpected.
She is the host of a very successful Russian T.V talk-show on the 'Culture Channel' the program is called 'Shkola Zlosloviya' (School of Evil Sayings), here she interviews the foremost representatives of Russian culture and politics.
She has lectured in the U.S.A on the subject of Russian literature
