A stallion is an ungelded male horse after reaching the age of sexual maturity, usually between two and three years of age who can be used for breeding.

Temperament

Though useful for stud, a stallion can be very snappish and nasty, which gives him a reputation as untrustworthy. You can never completely trust a stallion because their natural instincts make them unpredictable. The Lippazanner stallions are perhaps the most famous studs.
