The Russo-Turkish war was a series of conflicts between Imperial Russia and the Ottoman Empire. Turkish historians tend to see the conflicts as one long war, where Russian historians emphasize the individual wars. The term Russo-Turkish war can thus refer to the long period of Russian expansion:
