SABC 2 is a South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) television channel that carries programming in English, Afrikaans and various African Languages.

It was created in 1996, after the SABC restructured its television channels. The reduced prominence of Afrikaans angered many whites, although the channel still features a significant amount of Afrikaans programming.

M-Net seeing the market need, launched the subscription channel KykNet in 1999 and the Afrikaans music channel MK89 in 2005.
